Born in England Michael and emigrated to Canada in 1970 when I was 22 – to Toronto to a mother’s help job. Moved on quickly because I couldn’t wait to go out west!

My wife had always wanted to visit Kaslo, so a long time ago we took the 5kids on a circle tour of the Kootenays. Kaslo was a highlight for sure. But I really loved Nelson with all its eccentrics.

My son was born in Nelson in 1978, he’s now lucky to have an English and a Canadian passport.
